Under a Golden Bell

by Jennifer Spencer

Two lovers stood under a golden bell
Her so rosy fair, she was resolute
Him, tall and debonair he soon then fell
The jolly band played Green-sleeves on their flutes
A sense of paradise floated in May
Not one thing can ever fail to be wrong
Such poetic vows were pledged on this day
For them forever seems to be not long
Venus shall admire her son’s success
And fight all young conflict that may arise
The others threw the couple their own tests
Yet love prevailed, arguments went to sighs
Two lovers dance in a small rose garden
Preparing a life that made all glisten
